Village Creek State Park has much to offer for different interests. If you want to camp, there is a roomy campground for all size RV's or other camping vehicles or tents. There is even a section devoted to those campers who like to bring their horses. For the people who want to hike, there are a number of trails from easy to strenuous. There are two lakes to enjoy fishing, boating, scuba diving, or swimming. If you just want to visit for the day, there are places to picnic and enjoy the lakes, and there is a great visitor center with an auditorium to visit. If you are a golfer there is a 27 hole course next door to the park. It has 3 nine hole sites, which can be played in any arrangement you want. This is one of the most interesting and challenging courses in Arkansas.
This park is in the Crowley's Ridge and valley and has trees, flora, and fauna that is specific to this area. Also, the history of the area and its settlement are related a lot to the Old Military Road that crossed through this area. There is a section of that trail that you can hike if you want. If you have time, you may want to take time to visit Parkin Archeological State Park not far from Village Creek.
